The boys seem really close.

Since losing Jonah, Jasper and Jed seemed to have become quite close.

Before when there was the 3 of them Jasper didn't bother much with the pup but now they seem to have become good budies.

Jasper is quite protective over the pup too and will "shout" at him if he goes too far ahead on the evening walk.

Yesterday Jed decided to dig up the plant trough and Jasper barked to tell him off then too.

I took them both to pick Mark up from work this afternoon and they both snuggled up together on the back seat.

This last picture is from a canal walk last weekend when they both had a swim.

Jonah~ 1997~2008

It is with a broken heart and a tearstained face that i have to tell you that my beautiful chocolate boy Jonah passed away today aged almost 11. He had diabetes and had gone completely blind and was beginning to lose control of his back legs.

RIP my sweet boy. I loved you more than you will ever know.

How do you like the new "do"!?

I got my hair cut yesterday, it is the shortest i have ever gone, it feels strange to be able to feel a draft on the back of my neck.

I am pleased with it though, so thank~you Andrea for a great cut!

A new career for Jed...hopefully!

Jed is just over 6 months old now and is maturing into a great young dog. He does some basic obedience once a week and is about to begin a 10 week course for his canine good citizen puppy/bronze award. This will then hopefully lead onto silver and gold.

As you know i work in a school for children with special needs and Jed has been into school to visit on lots of occasions.

Last week i was approached by the head teacher who said how good an influence Jed was on the children and how well behaved he was in school and would i consider him becoming the school's therapy dog?

I was amazed and proud to say the least and agreed to look into the training and registration.

Well i sent off for the registration pack and am awaiting it's arrival, then Jed will have to be assessed before he is officially known as a PAT dog (Pets as therapy).

He will have to wear a little yellow jacket with his PAT dog badge on.

I'm so hoping that it all goes to plan, i will keep you all updated.

A Mother's day walk...

It's Mother's day here today and when given the choice of what I wanted to do I chose to go for a walk in the countryside with the dogs and have some lunch at a canalside pub.

We started off accross the farmer's fields towards the canal, crossing over styles and passing through 5 bar gates.

We then got onto the canal tow path , passing barges, ducks and swans before arriving at the cross keys pub for some lunch.

We sat outside in the Spring sunshine and had a lovely time.
